The NAMI Illinois State Conference provides educational opportunities for individuals living with mental illnesses, their loved ones and mental health professionals. The conference will offer over 20 breakout sessions, allowing each participant to customize the event to match his/her interests. EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION RATE ENDS ON OCTOBER 1st. REGISTER TODAY!

Deadline for online registration is October 10, 2017. Walk-in registration will be available at a rate of $150.

The NAMI Illinois State Conference brings together hundreds of family members impacted by mental illness, persons with mental illness, NAMI affiliate leadership throughout the state, and professionals in the field from across Illinois.

This year's conference with the theme of "Changing Minds in Challenging Times" includes four tracks:

a. Understanding Policy & Advocacy: Topics related to mental health advocacy at the local, state and federal level and how these levels interact to create and maintain a unified voice that promotes our legislative priorities.

b. Consumer & Family Engagement: How to strengthen our voice as a unified network of lived experiences, increase visibility and impact, and promote mental health wellness and recovery.

c. Strengthening NAMI: For affiliate leaders, affiliate staff and key volunteers to learn how to grow their NAMI to better serve our communities.

d. New Research, Practices & Innovation: New and innovative research, programs and practice that contribute to the development and strengthening of a comprehensive mental health system during challenging times.

Mental Health Research: Updates and Opportunities

  • Dr. John Zajecka, Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Depression Treatment and Research Center, Rush University Medical Center
